No, telescopes have very small fields of view and unless a meteor streaks across that view you won't see it.
The best way to watch meteor showers is from a dark site (far from city lights). For the Perseids where the radiant is in the northern sky, you need to get north of any large city.
Get a lawn chair and a blanket, lie down and just watch the whole sky.

You'll need to be able to scan an appreciably large portion of the sky to be able to catch a view of all the meteors. That will be impossible with a telescope, or even binoculars.

In this one instance, your own eyes are your best tool.

i dont think u need one. theres a bunch of things talking about it and a bunch of people talking about it. whats the chance they all have a telescope?

No. They are best viewed without telescope, or even binoculars.

No. The naked eye is best. Just make sure you're away from light pollution. And be patient :)
