Hi everyone,

I am pregnant for the second time; I had a miscarriage about 6 months ago at 5 weeks and a couple of days. I had, as I recall, bright red spotting that turned into a heavy flow.

I have been spotting, for over a day now, light brown. It was 4 drops on my underwear, then just sometimes when I wipe.

I know it could be a missed miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, and today I've been very depressed, tired, and lethargic. It seems I still have pregnancy symptoms (the sore boobs, at least, and maybe increased sense of smell). I'm making an appointment with the doctor tomorrow.

I need women who have had light brown spotting with no pain or cramps at about 5 weeks to reassure me that their pregnancies ended up going just fine and they had a healthy baby or babies- and what the doctor said the spotting was due to.

I'm very happy about this pregnancy and my fiance has become so, too. Please help! I just need possible good news right now.

Arrrgh!

This is is just for my peace of of mind until the appt with the dr. So please don't copy and past info on pregnancy bleeding (I've read it all), tell me it's an ectopic or miscarriage, or tell me to call my dr.

What can cause spotting or bleeding?
It's not always possible to determine the cause of prenatal spotting or bleeding. Because the blood supply to your cervix and pelvis has increased, it's not unusual to notice spotting after a Pap smear, an internal exam, or sex. Some other culprits include:

Implantation bleeding You may have some light spotting for a day or two at about the time when the fertilized egg burrows into the wall of your uterus. This is a process that starts just six to seven days after fertilization, so you wouldn't even know you were pregnant yet.

Miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy Spotting or bleeding can be an early sign of miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, especially if accompanied by abdominal pain or cramping. (Bleeding can also signal a molar pregnancy, a relatively rare condition in which abnormalities in the fertilized egg at conception make it impossible for the embryo to develop or survive.)

Up to a quarter of pregnant women have some spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy, and about half of these women miscarry. But if you have an ultrasound that shows a normal heartbeat between 7 and 11 weeks, your chances of continuing the pregnancy are greater than 90 percent.

Infections Spotting can also be caused by conditions unrelated to pregnancy. A vaginal infection (such as a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis) or a sexually transmitted infection (such as trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, or herpes) can cause your cervix to become irritated or inflamed. An inflamed cervix is particularly prone to spotting after sex or a Pap smear. You may also spot or bleed after sex or a Pap smear if you have a cervical polyp (a benign growth).

usually people say brown spotting is old blood. And in most cases spotting is normal during early pregnancy. But i don't think u should worry..Most people i know that has brown spotting during early pregnancy make it through full term with a healthy baby. So just think positive and hopefully you'll get good news from the dr tomorrow. best of luck to u

Hi Cesquin, yes i spotted quite a bit with my babies early on and miscarried twice, but had 5 healthy pregnancies. Try taking it easy and get off your feet, vitamins are good, and avoid caffeine and aspirin based products-they have been known to cause miscarriages. If you check on the net, you will find other foods and products to avoid too. Get your check up as soon as you can. Will be praying that you will both be fine. All the best Mother of five.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 6 years back, while I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I understand lots of young ladies will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/MRKKg everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This program gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the World.

Spotting, especially old brown blood, is totally normal and nothing to worry about when pregnant. Even some bleeding can be okay. In your case, you should watch for any red blood.

But at is it, theres nothing to worry about. Plenty of women have spotting during their first trimester. ESPECIALLY a day or two after having sex.

Might just be implantation bleeding. If you aren't bleeding a whole lot with clots, then I wouldn't worry much. But if you are really worried, I'd either get to the ER or make a doctor appointment as soon as possible. Congrats & good luck!

Go & have an ultrasound asap!!! for your own piece of mind!!
I have had multiple MC's & have had 2 healthy kids & am nearly 30 weeks with #3. I had bleeding in all my pregnancies. I lost most of them very early & was put on progesterone supositories at 8 weeks with this one & I am happy to say that all is well!! You will more than likely be fine as this type of spotting can be completely normal but go asap & have an ultrasound just to make sure that everything is ok & it will help you be more relaxed!!!
Good luck & take care.

Sweetie the best thing for you to do is call your DR tell them whats going on and go from there, that is the only good way to reassure yourself since every woman and every pregnancy is diffrent. No two women have the same pregnancies or outcomes so please dont rely on advice from others about this just give them a call.

With my second pregnancy I had some spotting sometimes it can be your cervix expanding. Just stay off your feet and call your docotor. I am sorry about your previous misscarriage I've experienced that tragedy. I hope everything goes well for you.

I had brownish spotting when I was in my first couple weeks of pregnancy. My dr. said it was "implantation bleeding" or something like that. Good Luck!!!
