why does eveyone hate athletes?

i read answers to a question Was High School a nightmare for you and it seemed like everyone complained about athletes "jocks" and it was like everyone hated them i play sports (football, lacrosse" and im pretty good, im kinda a shallow but i dont make fun of kids or anything like that, and everyone think people who are good athletes are dumb but im not im just average.

wait i forgot of one thing i make fun of people who make fun of my ocd

I wouldn't worry about it. I wasn't an athlete in school because both of my parents worked 2nd shift in a factory and I had a sitter so I didn't have someone to take me to and from practices. I really didn't dislike "jocks". I never really cateorgized people that way. I enjoyed people that were nice and fun to be with. I had a wide variety of friends and was happy that way. I don't think "jocks" are dumb anymore than I think "emo" kids are weird or "geeks/nerds" are all really smart. I try to find the best in everyone and try to overlook the bad. I know people have to do that with me sometimes too! :o)

Everyone does not hate athletes. Some athletes are overrated shallow and rude just because everyone is kissing their asses. Let's be honest some athletes get away things that the average person does not. I have family members that were athletes throughout high school and college but they were humble. That's what its all about. It's one thing to be confident in your chosen sport and it's another to be an ****** because you can or shall I say because you are allowed to.

I don't hate athletes. In high school I was a cheerleader and as shallow as this may sound now all I ever dated were jocks. So I can't say that I have anything against them =)

i'm an athlete to, i play football, soccer, track and feild and i ski and snowboard but no one hates me and i'm nice to every one. i have a 3.9 grade point average. mabey jocks at the other schools are meaner........

They just envy what they could'nt be. Im more of music though and somewhat athlete. But nobody hates it here. ^_^
