I want to be able to store lots of music, pictures, and videos and have my computer run fast..if not this one can one be recommended in the price range of: $500-$1000 but no higher..

You shouldn't get a Compaq because Compaqs tend to have a lot of problems. If you want a high quality laptop, you should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.

I'll offer you smth like this : 400GB hard disk, 2 gb ram, dual core cpu 2.1ghz video smth like 256 mb 256 bit and with this all in mind go to store and say I need such computer and they will make to you , I am for chosing computer from parts not alredy made.
