The ACLU defends the Constitutionally-protected rights of everyone in this country.
Mark D - "Majority rule" does not apply to matters of civil liberties. That would be considered "mob rule." In earlier times, that led to government-sanctioned discrimination against ethnic and religious minorities.

The ACLU needs to confirm that our government extremely honors the bill of Rights; besides the undeniable fact that, for some reason some Christians think of and assume that this may well be a Christian united states of america and that all and sundry the guidelines ought to duplicate that somewhat than have secular rules.

I believe they do just what their name implies. It is called
the American CIVIL LIBERTIES union.
Their prime objective is to fight against any company/government agency/
law enforcement agency, etc.
that would deprive Americans
of their civil Liberties. The
ACLU is about the only place
that an American can get
redress for wrongs done.
If you get picked up on the street for no reason and thrown into jail and kept there
for no reason, you will think
the ACLU is a great organization then.

The ACLU fights for liberties guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States of America. They are one of the few organizations in America that is genuinely interested in the pursuit of freedom.

Almost every day, I'm suprised who the ACLU chooses to defend or go after. One day they're defending NAMBLA. Another day they're defending Rush Limbaugh. Another day, they're going after the Boy Scouts. They continue to amaze me.

As a general rule you can take whatever the ACLUs stance is and reverse it.. and then you'll end up with the just and sensible thing to do.
They take the wrong side of every issue every time.

No, the ACLU stands for the American Communist Lawyers Association. They are anti-Christian, pro-socialism, and pro-illegal aliens. What a bunch of left wing jerks.
In fact, their own founder, Roger Baldwin said, "We are for socialism, disarmament and ultimately for abolishing the state itself ... we seek the social ownership of property ... and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal." This is the real ACLU, and we need you to help us enlighten a nation of people who have been deceived by signing our national petition:

No, they stand for what THEY believe in. And they don't even pretend to be in favor of majority rule. Instead, they are strong advocates for thwarting the opinion of the majority by using "judicial review," ..... i.e., court rulings which pretend to be "interpretations" of the U.S. Constitution.
If the ACLU were to limit their versions of constitutional interpretations to just the enumerated rights of the Constitution, then they would be far more likely to get my support. But their interpretations of the Constitution are rooted in an attitude of sophistry. So I try to avoid the ACLU.

Exactly the opposite. The ACLU was founded as a communist orginization (and it still is, but not vocal about it). They represent values counter to everything America was founded on.
