The fittings changed one year and I can only make one end seal

You can change the fitting in the rear of the power steering pump.

I did this on my 1988 camaro..

I used a 1970 monte carlo PS pump, and my stock 1988 PS hose.

If you look at the back of the pump, where the line screws in, you will see theres a big nut there.. Loosen that nut up and remove it.. Now you can do the same other style pump and just swap the fittings over.

Then your stock hose will screw right in

Hmm, I swapped a 454 out of a 1976 Suburban and put it in a 1985 P'up or was it the other way around? I think I just used the the '85 pump and got a new high pressure hose.

One way or the other I found one that fit. There is more than one choice. The hose might not look identical (fittings) but it will fit as in screw into the pump and the gear box. Don't limit your search to just one model and one year. These GM pumps were in trucks ranging from 1/2-ton to 40-ton, 18-wheelers. The gear box is different when you get into the bigger trucks so there's has to be some mix and match of the hoses.

If it's the return hose you can use any "plumbing" connection to hook-up the hose to the gear box since there's no pressure concerns. I've found some odds and ends at those old time hardware stores and or in the engine cooling sections in auto parts stores. There are transmission shops that use the same "plumbing" pieces too when something gets stripped or whatever.

Good Luck!

P.S. Check with LMCtruck if you can't piece it together with your sources.

It would be cheaper to go to a junk yard and get the right part but go to a farm supply store they got the fittings you need to buy

Swap out the power-steering pump or the rack and pinion.
