Nothing will change, because Bush isn’t the problem. It’s true, he’s not doing anything but making our problems worse, but getting rid of him will not solve anything.

It is a fact that China owns over a trillion dollars of our national debt. They have threatened to sell that trillion dollars to anyone who wants it if Congress passes any laws rectifying our trade deficit with them, imposes any taxes on Chinese goods (the Chinese tax our goods) or there is any repercussion whatsoever from Chinese products being poorly made and highly toxic. If China sells that trillion dollars our economy will collapse.

Congress has no intention of solving that problem, will not tax Chinese imports, nor will they protect us from toxic or badly made Chinese products, because they are too busy accepting campaign contributions from the American Bar Association, which ensures that the laws will not change and lawyers will continue to get rich suing doctors and businesses for malpractice and bogus damages, costing those in need of health or consumer goods hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars a year.

Congress continues to subsidize farmers to the tune of many billions of dollars a year. I recently heard about a farmer receiving over 50 million dollars. That farmer had been dead for ten years. Congress continues to send billions of dollars overseas in aid to other countries. We continue to station troops in Europe, South Korea, and all over the globe.

Military no-bid contracts continue to flow out of Washington for a war that Hillary Clinton herself has hinted that she will not end anytime soon. Most candidates running for office give it at least a year to begin moving troops out, and none of them can guarantee that everyone will be out of Iraq. The cost associated with this war will drag on for a decade no matter who you elect.

Our elected officials will not be removed from power anytime soon because only the rich and powerful can get elected, and they are all working in their own best interests in their marriage to big oil, military contracts, farm subsidies, insurance companies, the bar association, and the rich upper crust of the nation. Nothing will change, because Congress will not change, and you, the American voter, will not stand up to these people.

There will be nothing new if either Hillary or Romney gets elected, except perhaps another government pork project that becomes grossly mismanaged and doesn’t work properly, like more socialized medicine. None of the real issues will be resolved, and while you’re fighting over Democrat versus Republican, liberal versus conservative, distracted by social issues such as abortion or gay marriage versus civil unions, your country continues to lose high paying jobs overseas, our manufacturing industry is becoming non-existent, we continue to have massive trade and budget deficits, lawyers continue to cost this country billions, we continue to piss our money overseas, we continue to support the welfare cost of millions of illegal immigrants, we spend trillions on a costly war, and on weapons which we hand over to our ENEMIES.

While most of you on this website are arguing and calling each other “libtard” or “conturd” or criticizing one political party over the other, or blaming everything on Bush, you fail to see how dire the situation is, you fail to talk about what must be done to resolve these issues, and you fail to come together as a nation to solve these problems yourselves. The government sure as hell is not going to solve it for you, because they are the problem.

All I can tell you is, if you don’t start holding recall elections, pushing most of Congress out onto the street, running for office yourselves and running grassroots campaigns for massive reform, if you don’t stop bickering over divisive non-issues and come together on the critical ones, if you don’t stop squabbling over who eats to eat the most pork from the welfare trough, there’s not going to be a great and powerful America left for your children.

This is a wake up call. Take it as you will. I’m doing my part by speaking out, voting, and informing my Congressman of my disgust in his performance.

What will you do to save this country? Will you get informed, come together, speak out, and do what is necessary for our survival?

Yes, unless Rudy Guiliani is voted in, then things will get worse. Bush's incompetence would pale in comparison to Guiliani's egomaniacal power-trip.

First, we have to get Bush and the Republicans out of office. They are definitely "buddies" to their rich corporate friends and toss them every favor possible. Bush also has imperial ambitions and wants to be the "Decider," and he has evidently decided that the welfare of the people does not matter. Plus, he spends our money as though it is water, hires all of his inept, inexperienced friends at high wages, and is secretive about his programs.

Secondly, find a candidate you think is honest, or at least the least dishonest, and vote for him or her. I think every one of the liberal candidates have stated that they will end the war in Iraq. Hopefully, they mean it.

Third, the debt with China. We are in trouble there, but if we halt the war, there is more money to pay the debt off. We are an extremely rich nation, but it will take us time to pay off that debt. Cancelling the "tax cut for the rich" would help. I never could understand that, because the wealthy have expensive lawyers who help them evade taxes and most Corporations paid few taxes anyway. Somewhere, I saw a list of Corporation who had offshore offices, etc., and didn't pay taxes, and it was staggering.

The trade laws have to be rewritten, whether or not China likes it. The taxes are so high on our products that it is ridiculous, and has come to a stage where we have no products to sell. I have started looking at labels and I refuse to buy clothing, etc., made in China. I favor the labeling of food products as to point of origin. Another fact I have read....our biggest export to Asian countries is waste paper. We toss it, and they make little fans, drink umbrellas, etc.

Don't let disillusionment keep you from the voting booth. We all have those feelings of distrust and cynicism. Who can blame us? But we have to keep trying!

I know that all politicians lie, sleep with each other, and gamble with our taxes whenever it can get them elected, however, I do think that the Democrats are more closely aligned with my values and that's why I support them.

Over the years I have seen Democratic Presidents use more wisdom and compassion to "rule" the world. Over the years I have seen Republican presidents consistently be completely OUT OF TOUCH with the majority of us. The Republicans seem to be very in-tune with the wants of the rich, but they don't know nothin' about the rest of us.

I'm hoping that if we elect more Democrats we might really be able to change America and the world for the better. Maybe we could even pay off some of this debt to China? If they don't do better then I guess I'll have to join the Green party.

About the China nation debt thing:

The U.S. has been borrowing money from Peter to pay Paul for quite sometime now. Why do you think that China selling the trillion will be the final straw and drop the economy?

The future:

Call me naive, but I think there's a chance of getting someone "good" into office. I think they'd be able to get voter support. The real issue is finding that person.

What will I do?:

Learn as much as I can!

Nothing will change unless "we the people" change it, and most of us are just too comfortable to sacrifice our way of life, our SUVs, our $200,000 homes, our Sunday tee time, our five-star restaurant reservations, or all the things we can buy with a little piece of plastic.
Like lobsters languishing in a pot of lukewarm water, we won't start screaming in agony over our own apathy until the water is boiling over. Then it will be too late.
By then, China will have revoked our U.S. 'credit cards'. Our military will be in the same circumstance Russia finds its military in today: without money to finance it, there will be no military, just a huge black market. China has waited patiently for decades, making deals with the reckless Bush dynasty, and now China will simply send its million-man military over here and take whatever it wants: banks, real estate, military hardware, natural resources, water, weapons of mass destruction, even our women if there's a strong demand for western woman in the international sex slave trade.
And as China becomes the world's super power (most likely by 2050), the U.S. will go the way of the great Greek and Roman empires: a simple shell of its former self with crumbling stone and marble monuments and a demoralized society. -RKO- 08/12/07

Bush is not the problem? Who put us in this war? The reason China owns our debt is this debt is paying for the Iraqi war. For years the rubber stamp congress gave the great uniter anything he wanted. And he took all he could get. When the American people replace bush they should also replace every member of congress. We are actually selling America to foreigners. Please keep one thing in mind! Corporate America is no longer American. They are international. There is a steady flow of American businesses to China. There is a connection between our debt & the displacement of our businesses. Without the businesses there are no jobs. Without jobs there are no taxes. Without taxes we cannot pay our debt. And who holds our debt???????????? China.

TOO LATE! It is over for the United (polarized) States of America. Nations and governments come and go. The U.S.A. is not and was not an exception. When your government refuses and fails to enforce Immigration Laws, and refuses to enforce trade laws, that government must be removed. For those who can read and the literate, the Declaration of Independence provides specific instructions and guidance for our nation in crisis. Solution is read it, and act.

Here's my solution stop earning money and just collect entitlements. If enough people do the same then they will eventually reach a point where they don't have enough coming in from taxes and they will have to do something then! I told my congressman he sucked, and now he was replaced by a new girl who will most likely be worse than him and that would a reach! I agree recalls and impeachments are definitely in order.

Nothing will change until you get representatives who sincerely want to work for the people as opposed to getting reelected. Good luck with that.

As for President Bush, my personal opinion is that he was not given a chance - with the 2000 election still being contested, classified leaks to newspapers, newspapers not using their heads to not print classified information, and at least in my city, the news is distorted in the daily paper - with anything good buried, and anything bad front page news. Our local paper is so biased it is laughable.

Re: China, Japan, or any other country - they couldn't sell if we didn't buy. I think a lot of people think their one purchase won't matter, but when you multiply it by untold numbers, it adds up. My husband will not own a non-USA car and we try to do our bit when we buy anything else, we search for American.

Nothing shall change because of the class warfare which rules our economy. How many of the presidential candiates ARE NOT rich? They care not about the poor or middle classes but of how to keep money flowing to the rich.

Um, ok, so you're saying it's hopeless. So, what's the point of telling us then?

I disagree, though. Sure, the Clinton people aren't much of a change, but there are some candidates who would shake things up. People will just need to wake up and vote for real change, not image change.

So, yeah, a lot of what you say is true, but the people still have a lot of power if they join together and speak as one. We need to say no to more big government.
