is it right ? see, my friend's broke. and she only have $100 to work with to buy new clothes for back to school. sh eonly has like 10 outfits in her closet which would never be enough for school. and i guess you can say her parents would eventually ask for the $100 since they're kinda broke too. is it alright if she spent the $100 on clothes instead of giving it to her parents ?

p.s

my friend's family isnt poor. but kinda in debt at this point.

Logically, it would be better to give the money to her parents, although it isn't fair for her at all.
Maybe you guys could share a few articles of clothing. Sometimes friends lend each other a cute shirt or something. I mean, not out of charity, but say you are wearing a cute shirt and she says she likes it then ask her if she wants to borrow it sometime.
Also, maybe she could spend half of it on clothes and give the other half to her parents. If you shops at cheap or thrift stores or at clearance sales, she can still get a couple of new outfits.
The reality is, she's going to have to work with the money she has.

honestly i don't think that's right. ten outfits are more than enough, mix and match....she should have given the money to her parents and gotten a job. in fact i think the honest and righ thing to do would be to get a job and give her parents the hundered dollars.

Well, I think your friend really needs to figure out what is more important to her; buying new clothes or helping her family. It is not for anyone to decide what is right for her - not even you. What may be right for you may not be right for her. If it was me, I would help my parents.

If it's her money then she shouldnt have too, but maybe she could spend $50 on herself and give her parents the other $50..
