Doing a speech on women's rights in Islam is like writing a book entitled "Mullah's I have met while yachting", in that they are both non-existent concepts. The "religion of peace" that directs it's practitioners to mutilate the genitals of young girls, and force women to cover head to toe in desert heat, cannot even remotely be considered a faith that respects women's rights. How about the fact that men can get a temporary convenience marriage in that faith, essentially making cheating acceptable. How about in Saudi Arabia, where women cannot even drive a car....wow that is real freedom huh?
I hope this provides you with the impetus for a great speech on women's right rights Islam,

Muslim women have the right to choose our spouses.
Muslim women have the right to inherit, earn, and manage our own money.
Muslim women have the right to participate in the political system.
Muslim women have the right to wear hijab, so that people will respect our privacy.
Muslim women have the same right to education as men.
Muslim women are exempt from most financial responsibilities; we don't even have to support ourselves.
Muslim women are exempt from (but not excluded from) military service.
I suggest that you might like to compare these rights with those delineated in the Bible.

You could do a compare and contrast between the middle Eastern Muslim's males idea of rights and care of their horses and their wives, which is nearly equal, but leans a bit toward more freedoms for the horse. Climb into full regalia with whip and all.

I did a simple search on the web. Lots of sites. And, yes, they do have many rights that are given to them in the Koran. Just check out the sites for starters.

This should be an easy paper because there are no women's rights in Islam. Women are property just like a couch.
