Yes, my daughter , and she did an excellent job

The only thing she left out was my Uncle George was a "Rum Rummer" during Prohibition and once coming across the Great Lakes from Canada a freezing rain developed and he took off his over coat and put it over the booze..

Have letters he wrote to my grandma when the Czar abdicated....and when his brother saved a boy from drowning in Scotland...good reading..

Yes. Yes. And yes. The biggest surprise is just how connected we all really are. The best part about doing a history is hearing the stories and seeing the photos. Apparently, I had a great uncle who was a rum runner.
Another new one to me! : ) Fascinating stuff, family.

My mother was president of the Daughters of the Revolution of her local area once!! She has files and files of records of people. She did a lot of research for other families as well. My family is traced all the way back to the Revolution. Once you start researching it you will get addicted I promise. My mother would tell story after story of the people in our family and what records showed on them. We spent countless times going everywhere researching in the courthouses and cemeteries. Those were the good ole days.

Yes, I've been in the process of doing just that for the past three years. Be sure to write important information down from older family members before it's too late. Also, always write necessary info. on the back of all photos, the full names of people in it, where it was taken, and the year it was taken.

Yes, but for me it started out without meaning to put together any family history. My grandparents had the gift of storytelling, and all the stories I heard them tell, I wrote them down, since I love writing stories :)
It is true, once you realize you have family history recorded, you keep going, in my case by listening to my mom now tell the stories (both my grandparents are dead)and collecting all pictures I can of my family.
This is work in progress, but one day I plan to organize it all to give to my sons so they can trace themselves as far as I can get.
Some of the stories i have are funny, others are sad- and others are just plain wonderful - well but that is life isn't it? :)

I have. Went back to 1740. Family members included a mayor, bank president, and senator. They were the only skeletons in the closet.
