Contact the seller and see if they are willing to work with you first. If not, contact ebay and complain that the seller misrepresented the item.

Have fun - ebay sucks!

It's an understandable concern. I sell a lot of yankees tickets on ebay and sometimes if the game is next day or whatever I'll setup a meet in the city. I don't think I would be quite as comfortable inviting people to the house though. Most people i've run into seem friendly enough but you never really know. Maybe just make up an excuse that you're on a busy schedule and offer him a discount on the shipping....it's like 4 bucks to priority mail it anyway

You should try to resolve the matter with the seller first. Ebay's procedure is that you contact the seller and ask for a refund. However, unless the seller explicitly listed a refund policy, he/she is not obligated to give you a refund. If you used PayPal to pay for the item, you have an additional layer of protection. PayPal offers $2,000 of buyer's insurance. However, PayPal still requires you to resolve the issue with the seller first before getting involved.

don't panic. It could be just a simple mistake. The seller might have accidentally shipped you the wrong book. contact the seller and tell him/her you recieved the wrong book. tell them what book you actually bought and ask them to ship the right one to you. if the seller gives you trouble over it, tell them you will report them. if that does not change thier tune then go ahead and report them to ebay and leave negitive feed back.

I had accidentally been shipped a REAL diamond tenice bracelet by a seller once. it was a good thing for the seller that I'm a honest person, lol. I shipped it back to him and he then shipped the RIGHT item to me.

so check first that it wasn't just a mistake.

Email seller and request a refund in a timely manner. If u have no success, report them to eBAY as a last resort. If u paid with PayPal or credit card, dispute the charge and tell them why.

Contact the seller and see if he/she is willing to exchange.

If not, post negative feedback.

There really isn't much you can do beyond that. There is at least a small amount of implied risk when you purchase from eBay sellers.

Notify the seller, who may be happy to refund and take it back. They may not have known about the difference. If you have trouble, make a complaint to ebay, who should follow it up.

If you didn't get what was described, negotiate with seller for % refund or report thru ebay dispute console.( item received not as described ).If you paid with paypal use that avenue first.Be short and specific if you use dispute console.

Contact Ebay immediately and if you paid using pay pal, them as well, to stop payment. When you return book, make sure you get receipt for delivery.
