I'm working on a Go-Cart project, I have a mower but the primer won't suck in gas. I took it off and there is a weird screen type cover on the bottom of the tube. Do i need a new Carberator??? Plz help NOW!

although, the carb is not pulling fuel at all!

i have the same problem but my filter was'nt dirty thinking the diofram needs to be replaced

You must have the carb mounted on the gas tank type motor- The screen is a 'filter' element, you can get a replacement part for it at a tractor parts place, just get the motor numbers and take the carb with you to get the proper part. If that doesnt work, then as suggested, the diaphram could have a pinhole in it or one of the gaskets is leaking.

Take the carb off and clean it. Clean the gas tank too. Get a rebuild kit and put it back together. It will run just fine.

Is this a fuel filter? You should be able to clean the filter. good luck.

if you have cleaned the filter already you may hav e to take apart more stuff. the gas more that likely had trash(grass) in it and may have plugged it up
