My brother played with all of the above and did not turn into an axe murderer.. Tee hee....

But.....

There is a controversy as to whether or not toy weapons are appropriate for children to play with. Some people believe they can teach children violence.

With my nephew (who lives with me) we practice certain toy rules... guns/weapons must not look real and are NEVER pointed at people (he shoots the mirror or imaginary people) and as for other toys he plays like all little boys...beat the bad guy. Boys are expected to protect their family, and if we never give them a chance to see how to use weapons or teach them that weapons are bad and scary they never learn to handle them properly. My nephew was taken out to my grandparents farm (way out in no man's land) and shown that guns are loud and destroy things so he does know they are dangerous and not toys. He is also taught that if he sees a gun anywhere he is to tell an adult immediately. he knows and understands the safety rules and therefore we are not worried about him blowing up bad guys in his bedroom, with little plastic guns.

Toys don't cause violent behavior, bad parents do. Parents need to quit being lazy and teach their children right from wrong.
