I need the smooth (non-threaded) bolts that keep the top bunk from falling off the bottom bunk.

I'd find the Fastenal outlet... usually found in industrial park type surroundings. They won't rip you off like the BigBox Home Repair stores... if you can't just buy one or four of these, my next choice would be Ace is the place hardware store.

Buying just a couple of speciality thingees from THD or Lowes is ... I think.... where they make their money!! 2 screws $.75 !! outrageous!!!

BTW.. Home Depot is my favorite Toy Store, but some things are just plain stupid.

The cheapest and a very affective way is to get some 1/4" dowling from your local hardware store cut it into 4 lengths @ 5" and use these as your pins. you might have to drill the holes a little bigger than what they are now.

I beleive you are talking about carriage bolts. Most hardware stores carry these.
