They don't hae to serve in the military. Its a voluntary organization. They do have to register for the draft so that if the draft is ever needed they get called up.

Men in the US are volunteers in the Army. They don't have to volunteer to serve under any circumstances.

We have a VOLUNTARY military. It's anyone's choice to join. As long as they are productive members of society then they are serving our nation.
