Why do we as American citizens put up with this crap. Our country is becoming a police state and police brutality will rise as a result. It's time to fight the system and stop the tyranny. Under the current Bush administration the constitution is slowly fading. Why can't most American citizens see this. It's in your faces.

NO to the NWO....

I agree but with Bush in power and people like him, under the disguise of terrorism it will not be long before their are checkpoints all across America as well as complete profiling of American citizens. Thats what I mean by police state. The general militarization of our current state police.

First off I have never been arrested, I for 1 KNOW my rights. I know what I can do and I cannot do.

Second: Bush is tied to this as HE is the supposed protector of our constitutional rights and could introduce laws that would protect HIS citizens from corrupt police action and restore citizens right to privacy. However BUSH has raped our constitution and allowed OUR government to pass laws that give police more rights to violate our liberties and freedoms guaranteed to us under the constitution BUSH is supposed to uphold. Therefore, I blame OUR government in it's highest form for the corruption that IT has allowed to be portrayed upon it very own citizens.
Patriot Act #2
Universal spying upon American citizens
Introduction of national ID cards
all these laws were promoted if not introduced by BUSH. These laws and hundreds more like them allow our police to corruptly abuse there very own citizens.
Thank you....

This always happens in a dying, bloated empire. Most people don't want to think for themselves or confront "unpleasantness" of any sort. Especially if they'd need to show some courage in doing so.

Freedom is little more then 50 kinds of shampoo to most Americans and ours is a culture dominated through constant fear-mongering.

Also, small-minded people are generally angry and self-righteous by nature. This makes them want to see others punished and degraded.

Take the answer above that "only bad people need worry". Typical Nazi thinking. For example, that NSA wire-tapping tripe claiming to be protecting us from terrorists. Once the list of people being looked at came out however, WHO was one it? Gay rights activists and environmentalists...

Welcome the the fall of the new Rome. Enjoy.

All of your "examples" are local police departments including the one from Australia. What does Bush have to do with the behavior of local police departments?

These are very diverse and completely unrelated incidents and do not support your allegations of a "police state". The police are often in very difficult situations where split-second decisions must be made to prevent the loss of life. These "news" stories are usually biased against the police who are often not even asked to comment on the stories. Usually it is the people complaining about police brutality or misconduct that have been breaking the laws over and over and are looking to get out of yet another arrest.

I really distrust strong centralized government. However, I recognize that spy agencies need to do whatever they need to do in order to keep the nation safe.

Rather than have a Patriot Act, I'd prefer spy agencies to operate in the shadows and outside the boundaries of the laws.

This always happens with a prolonged law-and-order Republican administration. People trade away feedoms for a bit of security.

Many Americans have too much debt, longer commutes to work along with longer work hours to have any time to think about how they are being hoodwinked:
