I used to think it wasn't. Then I found this in Wikipedia.org under Diabetes: "Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are at least partly inherited. Type 1 diabetes appears to be triggered by some (mainly viral) infections, or in a less common group, by stress or environmental exposure (such as exposure to certain chemicals or drugs)." Viruses are contagious, so, that's why I ask.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Oh, please tell me you're being sarcastic with these questions! But if not... No, diabetes is not contagious. Diabetes itself is not infectious--it is not caused by any organism, it is a disorder of the pancreas--but uncontrolled or loosely/poorly controlled diabetes is an open door to infection: when blood sugar is higher than normal, bacteria are supplied with more sugar, too, which increases the infection rapidly, which raises blood sugar levels even more. Your uncle's amputation probably resulted from drastically decreased circulation and/or neuropathy due to poor control of blood sugar levels.

No, it's not contagious. SOME people MAY get diabetes when exposed to a viral infection, but MANY more won't. Chances are you had a predisposition to the disease, and the infection was the trigger...not the cause.

Nope, you can't "catch" diabetes, a person develops diabetes due to different factors. I only know a lot about type 1, with that only 20% of people with type 1 have a family history.

Diabetes is hereditary and it has to do with the pancreas inability to preduce insulin which breaks down carbohydrates to a safe level. I suggest you go to either Mayo clinic or WebMD online to get better answers than wikipedia

inherited does not mean contageous. inherited means you have a genetic disposition. And that certain factors in those who have that disposition may trigger it. That's all. you can't catch it from someone.
