I'm finding it so hard to say that it's better to have loved and lost, when it hurts so damn much to lose the one you loved.

:O( *sighs*

But the feeling you had when you were together is irreplaceable. You are a better person for loving someone else. Not ever knowing love is like not ever living, in my opinion.

Its always better to have loved and lost because its important to know that everything happens for a reason and one day when are time comes will get all the answers to why these things happened. It may hurt now but remember it was meant to be and u were meant to move on and find someone else. Just because u had such strong feelings for that person doesnt mean u cant have those feeling again for someone else and stay that way. Like they always say theres plenty of fish in the sea, so jus know everything will turn out all right!

Loved and Lost is better. If your a person believe in faith, you would have had an example of what brings happiness in a relationship. So you can excercise your faith with the belief love will visit your heart again ... and be even better.

To never love at all, would lead to lack of compassion on your part and possibly to others towards you. Without love I believe the heart gets a little sour, overly snycal, negative ... total loss of hope.

Now ask yourself, which type of person would you most like to encounter of the two. Then try to be like that type you admire.

Kind of like.. is it better to be male or female. Not planning on having a sex change I can only answer from one viewpoint. In this case though, it is safe to say that those have fallen in love were not in love prior to that, so I assume they have the benefit there when it comes to evaluation. I would say though, that if love is to be observed as an overall positive experience it is better to have experienced it than never at all.

Yes it is. The first couple of times I "lost " I thought that Shakespeare was full of @&%$ when he said that. But I came to realize that you can't hurt that much if the love wasn't so good. I've now been married to the same woman for over 23 years(and still very much in love with her) but I'm still gratefull to the girls/women who broke my heart.
You will get over it.

I have to say it's better to have loved and lost.

I was in my late 30s when I fell in love for the first time..and I'd been married and divorced before that. It didn't work, and it hurt terribly. However, I know I'm capable of that depth, and even if I never fall in love like that again...at least I know what it's like.

oh, how rigjht you are, i also have lost a love,,, but i will always be grateful for the love we had! its so precious, and the memories are for, forever, they can never be taken from you, by anyone,, if you have never loved, you have not lived, nor would you know what it felt like to have that love, the feelings, memories, that you hold so close to your heart,, so i would rather love and lose, than to never have been able to have such special feelins, and deep love.

Sorry you're hurting! It feels awful, but I still think it's better to have loved and lost. We've all been there, hon. It'll get better.

To never have loved. Then you have no idea what it feels like and can never know that pain that will surely accompany said "love".
