Reality is what is real.

Reality is what is. Nobody knows exactly what it is. the Hindu belief is that Everything we see and experience is an illusion (maya), and the purpose of Hindu is the escape the maya. Other than that, not many people will contest that reality is what we experience right now.

Some would say that reality is different for each person. Reality is different according to how each person perceives the world. In my reality, life may be suffering, while in your reality, life is a gift of God. Sometimes, even if our perceptions are wrong, they still have a major effect on our lives and the world (i.e. - Christians and Atheist, and your reality will show you which you think is right example).

The word reality has a variety of explanations. reality is what is really happening to an individual and the only thing that matters is what that person thinks/believes and thats a reality. Reality can also be what the majority thinks and believes and therefore can make a reality or basically ITS TURNING WHAT WAS JUST A THOUGHT OR BELIEF INTO SOMETHING REAL.

Reality is perception...?

Actually, I'll retract that. Existence is perception, that much seems pretty clear- but reality is whatever underlies that perception at the most fundamental level within the physical unverse. Our understanding of it may be limited or completely inaccurate, but by definition, whatever really "is there", is reality.

For example, though I can clearly imagine things like unicorns, fairies and Greek gods, their existence in my (or anyone else's) mind doesn't mean they exist in reality. Only if somewhere "out there", they actually happen to be occupying space, having mass and generally exhibiting some of the properties that we understand physical entities to possess.

My perception might be that I see a ball rolling up a slope, but it so happens that I'm hanging upside down with my legs over a bar. My frame of reference is such that I perceive the ball rolling up, but in reality the ball is rolling downwards towards the floor. Of course we can question our definition of "down" and "up" since I could be at the south pole, but for the moment let's assume towards the center of the earth is down.

What would the reality of that direction be if we're on the moon looking at the earth? Or 2000 light years out in deep space, watching the earth circle the sun? Or in another galaxy watching the entire milky way hurtle away?

In any case, the reality is that the ball is moving in a specific way relative to its immediate environment, which could be expressed mathematically, verbally, visually etc. There could also be an asteroid headed towards earth so far away that it's beyond our perception, but it would still be there in reality.

Regardless of what people see, hear, feel or believe- reality is the state of the physical universe in which we exist.

Reality is ones own perception of the world around them.

From The Matrix: Revolutions

"Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix. You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably, here."

Reality is what you're doing right now.

I guess whatever you believe is real, but what really is real is the question, or is that what you are asking. I don't think anybody really knows what is real or not real. Real is also a perspective.
Usually we have to see or touch something before we think it is real. It also makes really bad Television.
