Yes. If you are collecting unemployment benefits the child support payment will be based on the amount of that income and will be withheld from the benefits checks. In the event that you are not collecting benefits and have no income child support is still owed and the amount due will continue to build until you can pay it. You don't want to get in a situation where back support is owed. Support enforcement will get their money. They have ways.

Yes. Most places will use minimunm wage at 40 hrs week as a default to calculate the support. If you dont pay, you are running an interest bearing arrearage amount that will never go away
