The answer to this question is answered with a question and my opinion. If you are 5 years old, yes 10 is too old. If you are 12 and your date is 17, yes that's too old. You didn't givve us enough information as to what age you are? If you are 20 and your date is 25 that's fine. If you are thirty and your date is 35 that's o.k. too.

My daughter and her husband are 5 years apart. It hasn't affected them. When the guy is at least 3 years older than the girl, it balances the relationship better since girls mature emotionally faster than guys do. But, it still doesn't make a difference about the ages, it depends on the relationship and only you can decide if it is ok for you. There are lots of relationships and marriages that have even more that a 5 year difference. And some are even the opposite way too. My sister married a man who was 20 years younger than she was. They are doing fine and very much in love. My other daughter married a man that was exactly 1 month younger than she is. They've been married almost 14 years now. Age isn't the factor, compatibility is.

Well it really depends on how old the two of you are. If you're 11 and he's 16, then YES, there is a major difference. But once you go through many of the same experiences and grow older, you'll find that 5 years really isn't that much of a difference.

its all depends. if one is under 18 yes. my boyfriend and i are 9 almost 10 years apart most people dont think i'm that much younger than him because of my maturity level. it all depends on the two people. but over all i dont think 5 years is a big diffrence.

I think it depends on your age.
Like if one person is 13 and the other is 18 I think that's too much, but if it's like 22 and 27 I don't think it's that big of a deal because they're both of legal age.

It really isn't the age so much as the maturity level between the two.
