We are 5 weeks pregnant with our second child. If its a boy, my hubby gets to choose the name. He likes the name Gabriel, and wants the middle name to be Charles after my dad and my grandpa. I like that he wants to honor the two other most important men in my life. But I'm not totally sold on "Gabriel". Opinions?
Of course, we'll go with what we want in the end, I'm just doing a survey for the fun of it.

Personally, I like choosing names based on (1) how they go together and (2) by the number of syllables in each name. For me, "Gabriel Charles" does not flow right. 3 syllables, and then 2 syllables. A one-syllable middle name might make this sound better.
Gabriel is a nice name, but I'm not sold on it either for a boy. (Especially if "Gabe" becomes the nickname!") Ultimately - the decision is up to you and your husband. And sometimes that first moment when you see your baby, you'll know whether he's a "Gabriel" or not! ;-) Good luck.

I love the name Gabriel.......but for a girl.
how about Charles Gabriel you can call him Chaz or Chuck or Charlie
Or
Gab Charles
I know that Gabriel can be a boys name too. But right now it isn't seen as a boys name, but a girls name. I think your son wouldn't be happy with the name.

Not really crazy about Gabriel... I like that Charles will be in honor of your dad & grandpa, but Gabriel (or Gabe) just isn't my taste...

I like it but i do agree it doesn't "flow" it is very nice tho besides usually in life we don't introduce ourselves by our middle names anyway and i DO like the fact it's the MIDDLE name to honor your family not the first name!!! go you girl:)

i like the name ! it sounds well bred almost regal ! u could always shorten it to gabe ( someone is bound to do it at some point ) congrats on the pregnancy tho !
