I know that killing honey bees is illegal under state law.. but i mean this is the third time they've chosen my house to build their home in and its really getting annoying. I've paid hundreds the past few times to get an exterminator and I really cant afford it anymore. How can I get rid of these bees?

They've been there slightly less than a month now

Whatever you do don't spray the hive with anything. Listen to the first two and get hold of your local bee keeper. Most, not all, bee keepers will remove a hive for no charge. My local bee keeper does and he said that it is a win/win because he gets a new hive and the problem is resolved. Besides, it's not that it's illegal to kill honey bees, it's that they are disappearing at alarming rates and they are our primary pollinators. Harming them in any way is not good where anyone or thing is concerned. Good luck.

The key is you have to move the queen. The bees follow the queen where ever she might go. So you can pay some money and have a bee keeper come out and move the hive (I have never heard of them doing this for free - but feel free to look.) I had a similiar problem where they decided to take up residence in my lemon tree. So I was brave and bold and went out there and sprayed them with a high pressure nozzle on a hose and I had to do it for 7 days in a row because they kept comming back. But surprisingly after repeative tries the bees finally took there hive some where else. Hope that helps!

if they look like a big ant that fly they aren't bees..they are wasps. you can buy wasp killer at home depot. if they are yellow with black lines across and look hairy then they are bees and they don't only make their hives in trees. my next door neighbor had honey bees in his warehouse wall, he had to call the animal services so the could remove them without harming them.

Depending on where you are, ask your county extension office to refer you to a bee-keeper, who will come remove the bees for free.

Call a bee keeper, he'll come get them.
