An enzymatic cleaner (not an odor neutralizer or an air freshener) will "eat" odors like vomit, urine, and smoke. If you smoke in your apartment you cannot rid the apartment completely of all traces of smoke, but an enzymatic cleaner may help.

The enzymatic cleaner must be sprayed on the surface (carpet, upholstery, tile, fabric) and left wet for the enzymes to work.

Enzymatic cleaners may be purchased at home improvement stores, hardware stores, vet supply stores, and even at Wal-Mart (look in the Pet area).

You can also purchase steam-cleaner "pet odor and stain" treatment (on the steam-cleaner aisle). Even if you don't have a steam cleaner, you can put it in a spray bottle and try it.

Most smokers don't like the smell of smoke in their home, clothes, and vehicles. Most nonsmokers don't like it either. If you don't want to smoke outside, or quit smoking, you may want to try an enzymatic cleaner.

My man smoked up a scent in my place, too. Like you I smoked a few myself, but just a few. I had to limit him to only smoke in one room. He chose the living room of course. So, I had to work miracles. A "Tobacco Smoke " candle on the warmer (it supposedly takes away the odor). Some work some don't. Get a good one. Make a spray bottle of 1 part white vinegar and three parts water. Spritz wherever you can before bed, when leaving, when he isn't there. Spritz in corners won't hurt carpet or bare floor. Spritz under cushions. I think someone makes cleaning products with vinegar and sprays. Also you can wash things with vinegar to remove odors. Murphy's Oil soap on all the wood it really helps with the other smells. Get a smokeless ashtray, Check around some of them are really good. Go all the way and get an air purifier.Hope it helps.

That cracks me up--you smoke but don't like the smell and
don't want it in your furniture!!! DUH...
Then if you must continue with this disgusting dirty offensive
habit, try smoking by an open window, or in the bathroom with
the fan on. Or wow--you could QUIT, now there's an idea!

heres a novel idea...QUIT...it makes people around you sick...its expensive, its disgusting, it kills you, what do you need a roadmap? if you must clean it use odrinil but if you smoke with any regularity you wont have to worry about cleaning long, youll be dead or infirmed..but im sure that doesnt figure in so dont worry about it.
