It's an old wives tale. I've been terribly sick with all four of my pregnancies - 2 girls and 2 boys!

The reasoning behind this myth is that "little baby girls don't want to make their mommies sick."

But millions of women will attest that their little girls made them very sick - sometimes sicker than when they were carrying a boy.

For some fun in guessing at the sex, try the Chinese Gender Predictor (google it) or keep track of the baby's heartbeat at your prenatal visits - girls are faster.

Well every pregnancy is completely different with my first daughter I got morning sickness 3 times a day for the first 3 months, second daughter no sickness but leg cramps, and this daughter no sickness or leg cramps but lots of swelling. I wanted a boy so bad everything was so wrong, the chinese calendar was wrong, all the old wives tales were wrong, lol So I would only go by an ultrasound because the liklihood of all those myths being right are 50/50 and 9 times out of 10 a coincidence.

The answer above mine says it's a sign of miscarriage... just to put your mind at ease, it's not. Actually being very sick during pregnancy is a good sign.

Sorry it's all just stories. I heard the same old wives' tale only they said a lot of sickness means you're having a girl. It all just depends on the story you're told I suppose.

Still, looking up the old wives' tales and checking how 'right' they were when you find out is a lot of fun. Mine were all wrong, all the tales said I'm having a girl... I'm 34 wks pregnant with a boy. It was still a fun thing to play with though!

No, im having a girl and I have was morning sickness. Ive hurde of this before but its just another old wives tale. They say if the heartbeat is 140 or highers its a girl and lower its a boy. So far that has been right for me her heartbeat has been 160,152,160. Sometimes the old wives tales are true and sometimes they arnt but its fun to test them out.

Sorry you feel soo bad... But it's not true that if your sick your having a boy. My bestfriend was sick the whole pregnancy and she had a girl. But like me I was sick and I'm having a boy.
You wanna find out go to a Chinese Chart online and look up your due dat and the chart will tell you what your having. You can also tell by using your ring and a thread and put it ouver your belly and if it circles its a boy,if it goes back and forth its a girl. When do you find out the sex of your baby?

Not at all.

I had constant sickness for 10 weeks on my first pregnancy and my daughter was born.

I am now 23 weeks into my 2nd and I have still got morning sickness, but I don't know what the sex is.

Sickness is from the hormone levels in your body. Some women can cope with them while others get severely sick.

All the best :)

Same for me, but one of my girlfriends was sick as a dog with both boys. I had hardly anything with my daughter, but it was constant for almost 4 months with my son. Hope this helps!
