First define what material your tether is made out of ..

As far as I am aware, no know material will stand up to it's own 'weight' (when 'attached' to the moon) let alone have the ability to 'lift' something from the surface of the earth without exceeding its breaking point ...

If you decide the tether is infinitely strong, inelastic & weightless, then, since you have repealed the laws of physics, the answer is 'anything you decide' (magic tethers can plainly lift magic weights :-) )

that is over one hundred pounds (60 Kg) on the Moon which continues to be extremely heavy. besides the undeniable fact that the organic and organic physique of the astronaut has to help one 6th of his universal weight which may well be one hundred seventy pounds or abouit 80 Kg. So his weight could be approximately 15 Kg. Then we ought to element in the burden of the spacesuit which I dont understand, yet we'd assume it weighs approximately 70 pounds in the worldwide or 25 Kg. this suggests that the a'naut could be lifting 60 + 15 + 25 or one hundred Kg extra or less. This works out to 220 pounds.. somewhat too lots for one guy to hold i've got faith.

I read something once that said the moon would cover almost all of the US (the coasts would be uncovered) if it was put on the earth, so I would guess that it could lift 44 states.

It lifts with a power F= g x m 1/d
d= distance from the moons surface
g= gravitation from the moos mass.
m= moons mass

I know the moon is supposed to be moving away from the earth about one inch per year . It wouldn't be any thrill ride would it !

You are so misguided that the amount of words required to bring this discussion to where you imagine it should go is immense.
