It was an enormous strategic blunder. To begin with, history has shown that countries which try to fight a war on two fronts rarely do well. Secondly, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, making the Iraq invasion a distraction from what the U.S. claimed to be its main focus--capturing the leadership of Al Qaeda and eliminating it as a force to be reckoned with. Thirdly, again looking at history, Afghanistan by itself is quite a handful: the British and the Russians have both come to grief in Afghanistan. The U.S had, and continues to have, an inadequate number of troops in Afghanistan. The U.S. is being bailed out by troops from the U.N. in Afghanistan, but even with this help, there are not enough troops on the ground to adequately control things (see a recent article in the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/12/world/asia/12afghan.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin ).

It was probably a good thing for him since he can't even find weapons of mass destruction how's he gonna find Ben Ladin? Or maybe Bush expects him to turn up in Iraq?
Anyway Bush is such a stupid looser, he doesn't do anything that makes sense.

It was a HUGE strategic blunder--giving Bush the benefit of a doubt that he really does want to fight terrorism. If his goal really was just to prop up wartime businesses and limit civil rights, then it was a brilliant move of Machiavellian proportions.

Blunder.
Unless Osama never had anything to do with 9/11, the attack was allowed by the US government, and the plan was to invade Iraq from the beginning. In that case, everything went off as planned.
Hmmmmmmmm.

Very bad, because that's what this whole war is based on. Now folks like me are wondering who we're fighting?
The Mexicans perhaps? That's all I can guess because we're blocking the Mexican borders and cracking down on immigration.
Bush has probably lost focus, or I haven't watched the news enough, or both.

It was definitely a blunder... how strategic it was, I'm not sure... you'd have to consult Fox News for the current perspective on that.

Most all our liberals voted for the war with the same intelligence that was provided to Bush, now flip flopping and running scared these chicken s%$&s put all the blame on one person to save face and a few of them in a cheap attempt to get elected.
Liberals have no morals whatsoever.

Haven't lost focus.
You would be surprised how many people we have looking for the Democrats' Hero: bin Ladin.
Having had a Top Secret Security Clearance, I can guarantee people would be shocked at what all we are doing to get Ladin.
(Democrats would NOT Approve.)

It was brilliant (Karl Rove deserves the credit). They made more then half of the country believe that Saddam Hussein was the architect of 9/11.
