how long have you had your i pod?

My i pod got wet in the rain (but still works) and now it will not hold a charge for longer than an hour or two. Im wondering if its just old or if the rain did it(i have had it for over a year).Also how long do i pods last?

mine died after 7 months, with no abuse. another friend has had hers just about 3 yrs.
