First of all........good for you for being a great big sister just when she needs it. More girls need role models like you.

Point out to her that many famous women "followed the beat of their own drum" when they were younger - Jane Austin, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Dian Fossey and many more. These women did not follow the crowds and worry that they didn't fit in, or that others were poking fun at them. Who wants to look and act like everyone else?

If you and your sister are not sure who all of the women I mentioned were/are...please look them up on the web...all of them made huge impacts on our world in different ways.

Oh, and here is another thing.........the other kids are calling her "geeky"? Look at the biggest "geek" around - Bill Gates. He was considered to be a big geek and nerd in school and now he owns Microsoft Corporation and is one of the WEALTHIEST men in the world.

That sounds like how my cousin dresses- very naturual, messy ponytails, no makeup.

Tell her that her style is so unique, that all the other kids are jealous, and thats why they tease her. If that doesn't work, tell her not to sweat it. Everyone is different and each person has a different personality. If we were all the same, life would get so boring.

If you're an average big-sibiling, tell her that she truly looks good and it fits her well. Being an older sibling (especally if same gender, AROUND her age, and if she looks up to you)

Also tell her she should be who SHE wants to be, not who others think she needs to be.

no it's not geeky. it's called indy. it's good. tell her not to care what other people say. It's better to be unique than to be a clone like them.

i personally thinks its so awesome when people have there own style!

and hers sounds really cute!

They may be jealous because they arnt comfortable in there own skin.

but anyways i think theres not much you can do besides supporting her in her clothing choices.
