I know it would violate free enterprise and the such but if we did.

I think it would help the economy alot but what is your opinion?

It would make some US companies less competitive, resulting in layoffs. Basic economics.

Look at France and all of the protections they try to provide for the workers. France has over a 10% unemployment and the U.S. is at a low 4.6%. You might save a few jobs by increasing the cost, but most of the new jobs would go overseas.

The major corporations would never allow such a law to be passed.

Hypothetically, however, there would be full employment at decent wages.

Many will probably say it will increase the cost of products to consumers. G.M. and Ford vehicles are made in Mexico and other countries. Labor is cheaper off shore. So why then are we still paying on shore prices.

it might increase the price of the products but americans would have jobs to pay for the products. Let's face the facts microsoft will increase the cost of windows to us anyway to make up for piracy in china, not to mention accusing us of being thieves so............they add another $100 on .........big deal

The value of many stocks would drop overnight. Prices for goods and services would skyrocket.
