I leave my laptop on sleep mode all day and all night when im not on it, its plugged into the charger the whole time, and there is no disk in the drive. is this situation good or bad for the computer?

It's fine. I have so many laptops I've done the same thing to over the years -- some are 10+ years old and they still work great (ie. as good as they did when I bought them ages ago)

sleep mode is a low power state that turns off all hardware except the ram, which keeps your session as it was when you return. it does throw off program's timers that tell you how long the comp has been on. no biggie...

You should turn your laptop off when you do not use it...
