Black is a color distinction. Some people say you have to capitalize it when you're talking about people, but I think that's junk. Nobody ever capitalizes the word white when they're talking about people.
It's only a dirty word if you put it in a dirty context, aka a racist statement. By itself, it's just a color. (Actually, technically black, white, and grey are noncolors, but I'm not an artist)

Well yeah. It seems obvious black is a color. I suppose some hyper-sensitive types might want to exclude it's mere mention. Seems odd if that's the case???

I don't think anyone finds the term "black people" offensive...
wait i take that back.
But, i mean I'm white... not european american. Everyone is just entirely too sensitive. Political correctness is killing this country.

Be really handy if Yahoo published a naughty word list so we know where we stood.

I don't like using the words white or black to describe someones race, its just my preference. I'd rather say Caucasian or African American.

i think this is a personal choice. I don;t think anything is wrong with it, but i don't like the "n" word. There are other options such as african too.
