I was wondering if anyone else felt like artists especially in country music, are being thrown at us from reality tv? I miss the stories of singers/songwriters that work hard to get where they are and make it big through that hard work. Kelly Pickler and Bucky Covington are not good. I would say as far as country music artists go, Carrie Underwood and Josh Gracin are exceptions to the rule. Am I just resentful towards the whole things or does anyone else agree with me?

YES!!! As a singer, songwriter and musician trying to get a break...I think the whole American Idol is complete asinine! I don't understand why the talentless people gets all the perks while the people with actual talent gets left in the dark! It's way beyond me!

I am a country singer in a country that knows next to nothing about country music, so very hard to make it here, not many talent competitions going and definatly no country getting in. I have seen some of the idols and have great respect for the ones that actually can sing and perform, they are put on the spot and have to work hard. its a shame to see the last 12 go and only one stand as a winner, i think they are all winners. as far as country goes it appeals to a very wide audience over the world . if i could enter i would in a heartbeat, cut a few of the sharp corners in the industri that are so hard to get by as alot of talent out there know. i have it, and i want it, idols is just another way of doing it

when the people can vote from the start (but probably some can't even enter the game thrown out by jury not seen on tv)
Anyway when all people can vote from the start the outcome is mostly true.
But its a way to not have character as a production manager of music to let audience pick a idol...and to make money out of it and a show... and as extra the show itself is a publicity for the idol that can sing when he wins right away after the show untill he falls death they don't care next year there is another.

it is what makes the coach great. I SOOOOOOO AGREE WITH YOU, ALL OF THOSE COOKIE CUTTER, YOUNGSTERS DON'T HAVE A F(ing) CLUE WHAT IT TAKES TO "MAKE IT"!!!! IT WAS "MADE" FOR THEM!!! SAD BUT TRUE, THEY WOULD'NT KNOW HOW TO WRITE A COUNTRY SONG IF THEIR LIVE'S DEPENDED ON IT..IT'S ALL ABOUT LOOKS AND WHO CAN SCREAM THE LOUDEST!!!!!!!!

It's all about the MONEY !
and ratings. It sucks.
