If you mean those little chillies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Green_chillies.jpg , I get them from my aunt's garden. They don't last too long so I freeze them in a sealed freezer bag and they seem to last forever.

I don't think bell peppers would thaw well from being frozen.

The drier peppers, like chilis freeze okay. If you want them a very long time, put them in a paper bag where it is warm and dry. They will dry out nicely. Then you can put them in a jar and put a lid on. Make sure they are brittle/dry when you put them away. Dried peppers actually have somewhat more concentrated oils so leave them whole. Later , crumble or crush when making a dish. ( You may want to wear rubber gloves during that process)

I dry those little peppers, crumble them into a bag or jar and keep them in the freezer. I mix several varieties together too. Jalapeno peppers can easily be washed, dried on the counter for an hour or so and placed in the freezer whole.
