I am wondering what this web page effect is on this website with the long verticle line next to the words it looks like its dividing the page? I don't know what it is to look it up, but I want to add it to a web page I am working on. I am hoping somebody can tell me what it is or describe a tutorial website so I can do this to my web page.

The vertical line it's a shadow, soft and slightly blurred, namely a graphic effect made with Photoshop, or Illustrator (or another graphic application).

They are using css (and you should be!) and this is simply an image background.

The css file is here:

and the image file can be seen by viewing the background image (right click for menu)

To clarify for Clyde below - this ISN'T a table and everyone should be designing their websites as tableless CSS designs....

i don't know what the name of it is. it looks like another taable to me. you could try viewing its source by clicking on view then source. but if you ask me it looks like a table with bordering and shadows defined.
