Back pain is normal throughout pregnancy, and if it were back labor, you would know. Contractions will feel like menstrual cramps, mild at first and then very strong. They will begin in your stomach then radiate to your back before going away, and they will come in waves in a pattern. If this pain is constant it's probably just regular back pain. Can someone give you a massage?

Probably not if you don't feel anything rhythmic that you can find a pattern to, but it's hard to say since everyone's labor experience is unique. If you're not sure, just call the hospital. They can usually tell by the sound of your voice if you're in labor, or they'll just tell you to come in. You might be sent home but that happens ALL THE TIME and is nothing to be embarrassed about. Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?
