It it really does just come close to the line -- without crossing it -- by only teaching Hebrew history and not the Jewish religion, that's valid.

And the Talmud contains portions that are historical as well as other portions that are religious -- it's not all religious.

I agree it's dangerously close to the line -- but so are many other schools across the country. It's only a problem if they cross that line and start teaching religion, not just history.

But it's also a charter school, not a public school.

Yes, charter schools get public funding -- but attendance is not mandatory -- it's voluntary, up to the parents to send their kids there if they want -- unlike actual public schools where attendance is mandatory.

It'll be interesting to see if they can actually avoid crossing the line -- and if they can, it would set a model that Christian charter schools could use later.

Why not, NYC has a gay highschool. Maybe they will train Jewish kids to go use all those " Non-Religious" footbaths that schools and airports are putting up.
