- 5 5/8

times 13 by eight to get the common denominator: 164.
Then work like a normail fraction problem with common denominators!

43 1/13 = 560/13
7 5/8 = 61/8
the problem becomes
560/13 - 61/8 = [560(8) - 61(13) ] / (8*13)
4480-793 / 104
3687 / 104=
35 47/104


42 1/11 - 182/3
463/11 - 182/3= common denom = 33
1389/33 - 2002/33 = -613/33
- 18 19/33
