My brother was told the same thing. He just started modeling, and today has his first movie role (albiet a small role as a National Guardsmen in the new Batman movie being filmed in Chicago). He's probably about 5'9" -- short for a dude.

Alot of models get started really young- like 14 or 15. If you want to go for it, it's never too early.
You're a perfect height for runway, and as long as you have the right proportions (which if you have long legs and are thin you probably do), you could pull off editorial and catalog work as well. Keep your hair long, don't wear a crazy outfit, and go meet with some modeling agents in your area.
Good luck!

Models come in all sizes and shapes. I was 15, 5'11, and 170 pounds when I started. Make sure your parents are on-board... it's an expensive career to start.

You don't need to lose weight, hun. I'm 5'6 and I weigh 110, and people tell me that I don't weigh enough. I think you're perfect for modeling, but you need to know that modeling isn't as "glamorous" as what you might think. It's a lot of hard work, and you have to do things that you might not want to do at all. It's harsh.

you will locate out your wellness by way of dis formula. only take your weight and your top in metres and then divide the burden with the sq. of your top. If the respond you get is below 18.5 then your below-nourished. whether that's between 18.5 and 25 then you definately are suited and whether that's better than 25 then you definately are over-weight. degree it your self.

you sound like the average model, but different agencies look for different things, so go to alot of agencies and see if you have what they're looking for...
be careful of scams; if they want you to pay upfront/ pay for classes to learn thats a bad sign.
