What if his response had to 9/11 had been to focus on the small extremist movement that caused it, instead of the enormous religion that movement shares with a billion innocent people?

What if he had worked to strengthen the anti-fundamentalists groups in the Muslim world, instead of undermining them?

What if he had promised to bring democracy and economic development to US-based dictatorships like Jordan and Egypt, instead of starting a war?

What if he would have agreed that Arab people should control Arab oil, that Palestians have as right to a homeland as much as Jews, and that the United States had no right to interfere in the politics of the Arab and Muslim world?

I guess we'll never know how much better off we would be now. But I think it would be a lot.

I think we would be better off if we were truly fighting a war on terror. We now know Al-Quaida is alive and prospering in Pakistan, I have a friend fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, but the President insists that Iraq is where the bulk of our forces should be and that is where the problem is. Please!!
The man called for a war on terror, but often asks the Israelis to remain calm when self proclaimed terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, and Hamas attack them. As for your point about Palestinians, yes, they do have a right to a homeland. Their militant terrorist factions do not have a right to kill the innocent to get it. (You showed concern for innocent Muslims in your question- do you have concern for innocent Israelis?)
As far as whether or not the U.S. has a right to interfere with politics in the Arab world, if these arab nations are hiding, funding, or helping any group that proclaims themselves terrorists than yes.
I am 100% for the war on terror- I just wish we were fighting it.

He got scared cause they got so close with the Pentagon, plus he had God telling him to invade Iraq to free the people, Osama is screaming Jihad that got the Muslims scared that this really was holy war and Amadinejad starts swearing a holy man is going to jump out a well to be the last martyr for Islam. Is it any wonder it turned into a religious war. It's a little unnerving.

My purpose could be to discover a guy who can rule with an iron fist, who will give up the violence by worry and punishment. somebody who will close down the borders and strengthen a nationwide protection someplace alongside the lines of a million guy military. He could desire to then rebuild the infrastructure and start up pumping out some oil. Oh thats top we killed that guy. yet Im specific we can positioned somebody in ability like that eventual. the situation with freedom is, even your enemies get a say.

The war on terror should have been called, "The War on Reason, Integrity, Human-rights and Human Justice... in the Name of Corruption and Greed"

Terrorism has flourished and grown under Bush. He has enflamed it and encouraged it, successfully.

No we would still have the problems that we need to address in this country. But we would have more personel to help (wounded and dead), and a lot more money to help fix these problems. And less enemies around the world.

No we would have been worse off attacking the actual terrorists who attacked us--instead of launching a global crusade against a tactic that has existed for thousands of years.

We had suffered many instances of terrorism, and had to answer the bell. I just wish the "withdraw polity" had been better thought out!

Yea, we would all be better off.... we'd all be dead from domestic terrorism

If i was a terrorist and the president of the country that i attacked did nothing about it, it would make my job much easier

Jeremy P said it all. Of course, there are some that don't agree with that.
