It depends . . . if the person who is doing the criticizing is necessary . . . then I would be inclined to listen to it. If the person is not necessary . . . it really doesn't matter what they say. There's a big difference in criticism from France, England and Canada and criticism from Uganda, Palestine, and Egypt. Some countries opinions count more than others.

Critique is always good no matter how much of it you recieve as it may point to shortcomings overlooked before.
It was brought to my attention in a recent post that foreignors (assumed by the asker to be anyone not from America) should not question or offer criticism to any domestic policy in America.
I dissagree because its not so much the policy but the attitude that policy is approached with.
I for one make a lot of critique on healthcare because so many seem to think that American healthcare ,despite what the numbers and stats say, is the best in the world simply because it is American and its with that same level of arrogance that foreign policy is made.
Regardless of the subversive nation building and nasty foreign policy practices America is simply beyond accountability or blame for the simple fact that they are Americans.
Most people however respond to criticism of things that affect them personally in a more honest way.
Americans not from China are foreigners and they are pretty fond of criticizing China. Double standards .........

d. if it's true, I can tolerate it. and right now, worldwide there is so much criticism.. travelling abroad and saying you are American is like saying " slap me". There is always someone to tell you how rotten America is. I just reassure them that it is not the country, or regular Americans.. It is a renegade government ruled by a wanna be king, with absolutely no conscience. Sorry I could not pick first three.

C.
I'll tolerate any rational argument for any position, and the occasional rant when someone gets frustrated.
As long as the person can back up their position with at least some attempt at logic -- I very often compliment people even if I totally disagree with their conclusions -- as long as their conclusions show they are thinking logically.

We are suppose to be the best in respecting all points of view.
Being narrow minded only hurts the USA.

C. You said it- as much as it deserves.
Taking criticism and being able to understand, digest and reply to it is the wisest thing you can do.

I'll take C with a condition. You've got to tell the truth and back it up with solid evidence. Those of you on the left will quiet down considerably under those conditions.

There is right and there is wrong!!
To criticize sound choices such as President Bush has shown can be tolerated, but whenever they go to imposing their views of Communism, Naziism, Socialism, Liberalism then is when Americans must stand and so NO MORE!!!!!!!
