Thoroughly examine yourself for the reasons why you MUST feel superior to everyone else.
Is it not sufficient to you, being what you are.
It is not a competition, Life, that is, to prove a "better than thou" attitude. It is no race!
Perhaps you lack appreciation for WHO you are.
And feel that you'll prove yourself, by competing with other, to attain validation.
No one is HERE to judge in this world who is more than the other.
Life is a time for self reflection - and applying what one positively learns, gains toward it!
Do you have a huge ego . . no, perhaps a confused, misguided one to which you yourself feed, from some need.
Good Luck!

Maybe you should stop hanging around the winners and start helping out the losers.
Think you are really so great? Try volunteering at a local homeless shelter or volunteering to help the poor with your local church. By helping others less fortunate than you, you might keep your ego intact. Or it may humble you into recognizing that in the game of life, there are no winners or losers, rich men die as well as poor men, wealthy people are trapped in their own houses for fear of thieves while the poor who have nothing to lose walk free, and no human body, rich or poor, is immune from the common cold.
You may learn how to like people regardless of you ego and their bad luck. But nothing humbles one so much as being unable to help another less fortunate. Give helping others a try, and see what happens. Strange things happen when someone takes the time to help someone else...

I've solved a lot of my mental health issues by adopting a healthy marijuana habit.
I know it sounds like I'm joking, but I'm really not. Anxiety? Depression? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Oppositional Defiance Disorder? Attention Defecit Hyperactive Disorder? Bi-Polar?
All of the above, actually. And now I'm doing very well!

I'm not saying this will work for everyone. But I know that if I was really upset about someone doing better than me, I could just get stoned and feel a lot better. Everyone in my family is on some kind of pshycho-active medication just to be able to function, like prozac, celexa, ridalin, etc, EXCEPT for those of us who smoke weed. Coincidence? I think not.

However, maybe you should just talk to a therapist.

Hang out exclusively with pre-schoolers and those guys who wave flags to direct traffic around road construction.

Just be yourself, don't worry about how others are doing, just do the best that you can.
