Huge. If you plan to have kids, it should be a big deciding factor in your selection process.

In my experience it was a big part of it, but mostly because my In-laws are great. The fact that they live in Maine and we're in Tennessee is good too. There is too much of a good thing. Looking at it that way though, why would he have married me? My mother is a crack head who's tried to stab me several times, gotten my husband fired from one job, and both of us kicked out of our apartment. I like to think that I'm worth the trouble, ya know? You can always limit their visitations, we've both decided to cut out contact completely with my mother, and when we have children she won't be allowed around them. Heartless maybe, but sometimes you do what you have to. It's your spouse that's important, though you do have to be able to at least stand your in-laws.

Very important. MY parents may have been the best on this planet by what I have been seeing on these webpages in yahoo! I am not married yet but I do know how I want to raise my babies and I do know I want a decent husband who won't ruin our lives at some point!
