There really is no color to it. It all depends on the angle of the sun. The sun's rays hit the molecules in the air, the suns light is composed of ROY G. BIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) So that when the sun's rays hit the molecules, it scatters the light and seperates the colors. Depending on the angle, we'll see one of those colors. Its something like that!

inside or outside the atmosphere?
inside because the pollution in the atmosphere scatters blue light more so that is what u see.
outside black because there is nothing to scatter light.

at night it's black.
during the day it's blue, because the shorter blue wavelengths of light scatter more easily and make their way into our eyes.
