The meaning of leadership is the ability to inspire a desire to succeed in others...to help them acheive it.

A good leader is one who has integrity, people skills, vision, goals, and the ability to influence others.

I have developed my own model of leadership, which I believe to be better than the ones traditionally associated with the term "leadership".
In short, it comes down to "SERVICE".
As a leader, you need to be aware of the cause you are serving, and you need to be cognizant of the needs of those under your command and foster to those needs in a manner so diligent, it seems like you serve them (but that only helps them be of service to you, of course).
Conjointly with the above, I believe in leading by example. I do it first, and expect my staff to follow.
