(-6,2), (2,0), (-10,-3), (-18,5) are solutions for the equation x+4y=2?

I have tried to solve this problem and I cannot figure it out. I have never had an Algegbra class before now and I am really lost. If you could show the work so I can take notes, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1, 2, and 4.

Replace the pairs of numbers in and check.

Note that (-10, -3) would work too, if "-3" were positive "3".

you have to plug in the coordinate to check

x + 4y = 2
-6 + 4(2) = 2
-6 + 8 = 2
2 = 2 true

2 + 4(0) = 2
2 = 2 true

-10 + 4(-3) = 2
-10 - 12 = 2
-22 = 2 false

-18 + 4(5) = 2
-18 + 20 = 2
2 = 2 true

so (-2,2), (2,0) and (-18,5) are the solutions

Plug them into the equation:

(-6, 2): -6 + 4*2 = -6+8 = 2

(2, 0): 2+4*0 = 2

(-10, -3): -10 + 4*(-3) = -10 - 12 = -23 =/= 2

(-18,5): -18 + 4*5 = -18 + 20 = 2
