I have a box for a local hospice that is part of the Sue Ryder Care Charity for people in our local area with life threatening illnesses that my loose small change goes into.

I am an official loose change geek lol. I have a tin for all of our 1's, 2's, 5', 10's, 20's and they actually go in the savings account for my son, he's only 3 so still got 15 years to go, and in my second tin, I save 50P's, and the odd £1, half gos into the bank again and the rest takes us away for the day.

Aside from the essentials, clothing etc he doesn't spend much of our money at the moment, he played a whole day with a blanket, my sofa cushions and crown made of cardboard and sponge bob stickers, at 18 I'm thinking that might be less cool, I only wish I had had a little trust fund like that when I turned 18. The scary thought is, how much have we actually thrown away, or forgot about, whilst throwing a receipt away, (shop assistants out there, give us the money, then the receipt, please).

I did say, for the record, that I was a geek, but only with my 'tins'. lol ;0)

I have a milk jug that I keep my change in and when it gets filled which is about every 6 monthes I take it to my bank and have them count it and put it in a savings account that I use for my college tuition. Usually adds up to a couple hundred dollers.

I have this candy machine at home and I put my change in there. If I don't have money, I don't get candy. Then when it's empty, I put the money aside and collect until I can buy something really nice. I must have nearly $200 in change by now.

We've got one of those giant plastic beer bottle things to collect our spare change in. It's our holiday fund. We've cashed it all up for he holiday we just had - we had almost £400 to put towards our spending money - so now we are starting again from scratch.

We do this. One big tin for 50p, and 20p pieces. Another smaller one for small change. We empty the big one at xmas and the smaller one whenever we have a day out or a special occasion.

My wife and I keep ours in a shoe box. Every other month, we roll it and cash it. Usually has enough in it for a romantic night out. Nice dinner and bottle of wine followed by a show (not a movie)
