worth of pennies? In other words, 100 million pennies. More than one? Think about how big the trailer is on an eighteen wheeler. If you filled it with pennies, would it hold all 100 million?
You may need to consider weight more than anything. I'm guessing you could not fill the trailer up with pennies due to weight limitiations.
I know this is a goofy question.

frederick: You are wrong about 1000 pennies to a pound. It is closer to pennies per pound. I figure it's about 11 pennies per ounce. That would be roughly 200 pennies per pound.

Well, lets look at the weight....
Assuming a single penny weighs 0.08818490487395103 oz.
(from here: http://www.christianconnett.com/weblog/?p=119 )
then 100 million pennys would weigh 8,818,490.487395103 ozs., or 551,155.6554621939375 lbs.
Assuming a standard tractor trailer can haul a max. of 80,000lbs Gross weight, and that the truck and trailer weigh around 30,000 lbs empty (varies with truck, but that's actually pretty close) then each truck can haul about 50,000lbs of actual cargo.
Therefore, you would need 11.02311310924387875 trucks, (or, 12 trucks since you can't run a partial truck on the road lol)
As for the size, each truck would be hauling about 8.3 million pennies (100,000,000 / 12= 8,333,333.3333333...)
which is 166,666.6666666.... rolls of coins (50/roll)
A roll of pennies is about 3 cu. in. (1in X 3in) so 166,666 rolls is 50,000 cu. in. or a little over 385 cu ft.
Since a standard trailer is 8'X8'X53', or, 3,392cu ft., the space needed is not an issue.

Assuming we go back to the classical standard that one penny equals 1/1000 of a pound.
We need 100,000,000 pennies so divide 100,000,000 by 1000=100,000. That's one hundred thousand pounds.
A good size load for an 18 wheeler is 80,000 lbs gross weight, but the truck and trailer will weight about 18% of that so the net payload per truck would be 70, 400 lbs.
You will need 2- 18 wheelers.

OK, so the standard weight of a U.S. Penny is 2.5g and there are 453.59237 grams to a pound. So with 100,000,000 pennies you would be looking at a weight of 551,155.65lbs, however that is not counting any packaging material they would be stored in. Now as to how many truck you would need... it all depends on what type (make/model/year/purpose) trucks you are talking about. Once you know the truck tow capacity just divide the above total weight by the capacity and there you have it.

Some trailers hold 90,000 lbs.
Weigh 1 penny, multiply by (1,000,000 X 100).
