How can I make myself more alert?

I'm trying to do research for a boring school assignment, and I can't quite concentrate or remember anything I read. Help? Anything I can do?

Are you getting enough sleep at night or staying up late playing video games, surfing the net or watching TV? To be alert, you need proper rest.

Have you broken the task into little steps? Try that. For example, you could start by deciding that you will find 5 good articles online. Stay on task until you have them printed off. Then take a break for 15 minutes. Get up from your desk and walk the dog or do something else.

Your next task could be to read one article with a highlighting pen in your hand to make note of any particularly good points. Then take another break.

There is no rule that says that papers have to be written all in one sitting.

while your reading write key words and sumerize the page that you read. so when your done you can look at your notes and write a paper or something.
