If you are writing an essay on dog fighting, you will need to develop the point of view of those who consider it a sport, and contrast it with those who consider it animal abuse.
I cannot think of a single good reason to think of why dog fighting should be considered a sport.
It's just barbarism.

to those who participate they call it sport
it's animal abuse as a whole. from the fighting to the treatment of the dogs before during and after fighting. not to mention the bait dogs used for training.
just call it what it is- dog fighting.
